The High Free Church began meeting as a group in April 2014. It was clear from the very first service that there was a united and prayerful heart among the people and a desire to move forward. In October 2014 we became part of the Free Church of Scotland. We are a congregation of all ages who believe that the Bible is God’s Word and who seek to live by its teaching in our daily lives. This is reflected in our Sunday services where we have a mixture of traditional and contemporary praise songs and a 30 minute talk from the Bible. Our focus in all that we do is very simple – we want people to hear the good news about who Jesus is and what He’s done for all His people. This is encapsulated in our congregation’s mission statement – “Showing The Greatness Of Jesus Christ Within Our Community And Beyond.” In order to fulfil this we have services on Sundays, prayer meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, a toddler group on Thursday mornings, a monthly over 55s group on Fridays and various events and activities for younger people. We also have a fortnightly brunch after our Sunday morning service which everyone is encouraged to stay behind for so that we get to know one another better. We love to see visitors coming to the various services we have and events that we run and our aim is that anyone who does so will receive a warm welcome.
