Evangelistic Courses

It’s a great joy when friends or contacts want to investigate Christianity. Courses – whether run online or in person, in a group or one-to-one – can be a great help. But which one to go for?

Every course has strengths and weaknesses, but we asked nine experienced evangelists and local church leaders for their ‘go to’ recommendations (and why these are their top picks). These were their most recommended.

321 Course

Speak Life

theme

Discover life according to Jesus

Length

3-4 Sessions

Format

Online video-based course (321course.com)

Our reviewers said...

“I was almost disappointed at the end of the fourth video, I wanted to give my life to Christ in response but couldn’t because I already have!”

Christianity Explored

Christianity Explored Ministries (CEM)

theme

‘What’s the best news you’ve ever heard?’ Relaxed and informal presentation of the Christian faith, centred on Mark’s Gospel.

Length

7 sessions, plus a ‘day away’

Format

Short Bible study in Mark’s Gospel; talk (film or using outline); discussion. Tailored versions available (e.g. youth, prison ministry).

Our reviewers said...

“I particularly love the clarity of the gospel presentation (identity, mission, call) and the emphasis on hospitality. If people are willing to commit the time, this remains my go to resource.”

Essentials

Lee McMunn

theme

‘Answering big questions.’

Length

5 sessions

Format

Book (with discussion questions) and videos (DVD and online).

Our reviewers said...

“Massively underrated course. Great content and production.”

“Really clear gospel outline and good initial connection point. Videos are good. Needed a bit of work from us to craft the session beyond the videos and the booklet questions.”

Hope Explored

CEM

theme

‘What’s the best future you could imagine?’ Looking at Christian hope that doesn’t disappoint through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel.

Length

3 sessions

Format

Short Bible study; talk (film or using outline); discussion.

Our reviewers said...

“The fact it is only 3 sessions is great. The entry point of talking about hope, peace and purpose is a good way in that everyone can relate to.”

“Focusing on just one passage of Luke per session makes it accessible. Great to use as an intro to longer courses after Christmas and Easter.”

Jesus and You (The King and I, Close Encounters, Tales of the Unexpected)

Pete Woodcock, Anne Woodcock and Lizzy Smallwood

theme

‘Reach out to non-booky people’. ‘The story you’ve never heard’. Sharing the gospel through stories that Jesus told. Aiming to be as jargon-free as possible.

Length

3 courses, each with 4 sessions

Format

DVD and handbook.

Our reviewers said...

“We have found this very useful with ordinary people. It has a choice of speaker, either Lizzy or Pete, so can be adapted for men or women. The testimonies at the end of each session are really helpful.”

Live

Rebecca Manley Pippert

theme

‘Christianity offers newness — new life, new future, new perspectives, new priorities.’ Part of the series ‘Live, Grow, Know’.

Length

5 sessions

Format

DVD, handbook and leaders’ guide.

Our reviewers said...

“An excellent second course by Rebecca Pippert for people who are almost ready to commit. It has the added bonus of two follow on courses in the basics of discipleship and doctrine”

Sample church description

All Saints Littletown is a warm, friendly church made up of all ages and nationalities. We are ordinary people who have discovered the difference it makes to have a relationship with God through his Son, Jesus.

We meet twice on Sundays at 11am and 7pm for about an hour to worship God and learn from his Word, the Bible. Refreshments follow the morning service.

During the week, we run a variety of activities, including a toddler group, children’s groups, and a coffee morning for seniors.  We also offer regular sessions for those exploring the Christian faith—providing space to learn about Jesus and ask questions.

Whether you’re exploring, seeking community, or simply curious—you’re warmly welcome here!

Churches that sign up to join the mission will enjoy unlimited downloads of all the training videos.

There will also be a limited access subscription for churches and individuals that want access to the videos without full access to all the LIFE ‘26 mission resources.
