Giveaway books

Many of us will have had conversations with friends or colleagues and have wanted to follow up by giving them something to read. But where to start? We asked nine experienced evangelists and local church leaders for their ‘go to’ book recommendations (and why these are their top picks).

A Passion for Life – Real life stories about faith

Beyond the Big C

Jeremy Marshall

Our reviewers said...

“Honest account of his battle with cancer and why there is hope in Jesus.”

“Gave it to friends suffering with cancer or with cancer in the family. Very compassionate, authentic and Christ-honouring.”

City Lives

Marcus Nodder

Our reviewers said...

“The stories of 14 ordinary people on one level, high flyers on another, but all of them with one thing in common – that their lives have been changed by an encounter with Jesus.”

“Powerful testimonies from high profile people. Good giveaway for middle class friends.”

Finding More

Rico Tice and Rachel Jones

Our reviewers said...

“The testimonies of 11 people who asked whether there is more to life and found the answer in Jesus. Very helpful for people who learn through stories.”

Cosmic Chemistry: Do God and Science Mix?

John Lennox

Our reviewers said...

“Still the best book on science and religion, in my opinion.”

Making Sense of God: An Invitation to the Sceptical

Tim Keller

Our reviewers said...

“Written to challenge the sceptic and make them question their beliefs.”

“Questions that I think non-Christians are in fact more likely to ask.”

On Birth / On Marriage / On Death

Tim Keller

Our reviewers said...

“Recently gave ‘On Death’ to a friend I had been reading with who is facing death in the family. He says he found it challenging and thought-provoking.”

The Case for Christ

Lee Strobel

Our reviewers said...

“The story of how an eminent but sceptical journalist researched the evidence for Christ and came to faith. Particularly helpful for logical thinkers.”

The Reason for God

Tim Keller

Our reviewers said...

“Keller at his best.”

“Great reasoned arguments from one of our best communicators.”

What Kind of God?

Michael Ots

Our reviewers said...

“Answering common questions to Christianity. Not too technical.”

Are You 100% Sure You Want to Be an Agnostic?

Andrew Sach and Jon Gemmell

Our reviewers said...

“Engages seriously with the assumptions and objections of our sceptical age. Thoughtful and considered, but wears it lightly. Draws on John’s Gospel and 1 John, so would dovetail well with Life ‘22 follow up.”

Sample church description

All Saints Littletown is a warm, friendly church made up of all ages and nationalities. We are ordinary people who have discovered the difference it makes to have a relationship with God through his Son, Jesus.

We meet twice on Sundays at 11am and 7pm for about an hour to worship God and learn from his Word, the Bible. Refreshments follow the morning service.

During the week, we run a variety of activities, including a toddler group, children’s groups, and a coffee morning for seniors.  We also offer regular sessions for those exploring the Christian faith—providing space to learn about Jesus and ask questions.

Whether you’re exploring, seeking community, or simply curious—you’re warmly welcome here!

Churches that sign up to join the mission will enjoy unlimited downloads of all the training videos.

There will also be a limited access subscription for churches and individuals that want access to the videos without full access to all the LIFE ‘26 mission resources.
